MOBILE CT SERVICE
One of the latest projects carried out by IML Ltd. in the area of mobile CT services was the plan to replace the fixed CT scans of an entire Region as part of the national PNRR plan to modernize technologies.
A project was carried out with a specific timetable for planning the replacement of CT scans in the various Hospital Presidiums of the Region, guaranteeing by means of mobile CT a complete diagnostic continuity for both outpatients and inpatients.
For each Presidium, arrangements have been made with the manufacturers supplying the new fixed CT scans to plan the arrival of the mobile vehicle a couple of days in advance of the start of the renovation of the premises , guaranteeing the service until the delivery of the new fixed CT and the complete installation and testing.
During the period of activity and presence of the mobile CT vehicles, teams of TSRM radiology technicians were also made available by IML in the various Hospital Presidiums, capable of giving h24 operational assistance even on holidays, also guaranteeing the training of the technical staff of the Hospital Authority.
On the part of IML Ltd., the connecting tunnels between the Hospital Presidium’s Radiology buildings and the mobile vehicle were prepared well in advance, providing a floating floor , a hot-cold air conditioning system and internal lighting. This allowed patients who needed to have CT examinations to transit directly from the radiology waiting room to the mobile CT examination room without the feeling of accessing an external vehicle.
In addition, medical gas connections were provided on the mobile vehicles, and the defibrillator, multi-parameter monitor, anesthesia cart, and ‘aspirator were made available.
The period of use of the mobile CT scans was different for each Hospital Presidium depending on the different complexity of the renovation work and generally lasted from 6-7 weeks to 8-12 weeks for each Presidium.
The careful and precise planning of the time and services needed for the project allowed for perfect continuity of work and an extremely successful and satisfying public-private group outcome.
